Five for Fridays with Tammy Tutterow Designs Creative Team / Happy is my Favorite Color

Happy Friday Everyone!!
Celebrating Friday with the Tammy Tutterow Creative Team's "Five for Fridays".  The Friday we all share a current project we've been working on.
I'll tell you a  little bit about mine and then I hope you will pop over to Tammy's Blog and check out all the other inspiration from this talented team.

Why do I love Tammy's stamps so much?  Well, they are CUTE of course lol, but I also love how you can be a very novice colorer or a very seasoned colored and you can make them look great!
You can use markers, watercolors, pencils .. whatever you like.  I not only think the bigger images with bits of detail and wider lines are not only easier to color/paint but boy do they make a statement.
You don't have to own tons of expensive markers, and you don't have to be an expert on shading and blending.  I kept it simple with the image below using only Sharpies and Chalk.

Happy is my Favorite Color

Check out all Tammy's gorgeous steel rule flower dies HERE

These ladies gorgeous projects, as well as links to their personal blogs to read even more about their projects are all HERE on Tammy's blog today.  I'm SO enjoying being apart of this team.  These ladies are not just talented, they are just really great people!  Tammy and these girls have made me feel so welcome.  Especially since just after I joined the team, I had my accident and was not at the top of my game to say the least.  Thank you for all your prayers, and patients.

Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend ahead and thanks so much for stopping by!

A few Fancy Pants Designs Projects using the "Dream Big" Collection / and meeting Evelyn

Ready to start a brand new week?  Well, here we go!  Seems like the weekends fly by, doesn't it?  We were excited to meet the newest member of the family this weekend.  Here and her Momma and Daddy were here from Colorado to visit so we all got together for dinner last night.  I'll share some photos below, but first ( as always :)  a few projects.  These are projects I had up in my blog post on the Fancy Pants Designs blog this week.  If you haven't been over there in a while, pop by and check out all the new creative inspiration from the DT using the newest collections.
I used the Dream Big Collection for these projects.

Here is my original post on the Fancy Pants Designs Blog

The first project is one of the fun Travelers Notebooks from Fancy Pants that I dressed up  and personalized.  I love the simplicity of it.  Since I'd be using it in my purse, I didn't want a lot of  embellishments that I'd have to worry about getting caught on things in my purse. ( because often my purse is .. shall we say, I bit .. disorderly? lol

I find these collections so easy to create with because there are such great ephemera pieces. I LOVE them!
I rarely make a card that I don't use Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Foam Squares or Foam Tape They are a match made in heaven with these ephemera pieces!

Before adding the wreath piece, I cut a piece of plastic from some other Fancy Pants packaging and added it to the back of the wreath.   Once I had added it to the card with foam tape, I then added the center circle to the middle using foam tape again.  Just a simple thing that really adds interest to the card.
This is a super fun collection.  There are many more inspiring projects HERE on the Fancy Pants Designs Blog.

So yesterday, those family members who were able all got together for dinner to meet the newest member of the family.  Miss Evelyn June.
Every time, I think about her name I get a lump in my throat.  Evelyn was our sweet momma name, and now it is shared with this little sweetheart.  I know mom is just smiling down from heaven.

This is my sis's newest grandbaby. She has the most darling little grandson and now a darling little grand daughter!  Her and my brother in law Keith just beam when they they are around their grand babies.  I love them both so much, so watching them interact with their grand kids just makes my heart swell!
I adore this photo of my sis with her son ( Evelyns Daddy, Ryan) and Evy.
Look at her looking at her Grandma! awwww

It was so great to see Ryan, Erin and Evelyn and also the family members that could make it for dinner.  I tried to get a photo between all the movement and chatter, but still didn't begin to get everyone in the photo.  I suppose there was about 20 of us.   We kept rotating from chair to chair so we could try to talk to everyone. lol   We are a chatty bunch for sure. lol   My brothers would say, it's just us girls :)

Getting together and spending time with my family is just what I was needing.  And I was determined I was walking in there with NO cane!   I was also determined that this Summer was not going to go by with out me getting to wear flip flops at least once!  So I did!
Seeing my fam, no cane, wearing flip flops, meeting Evelyn... that was a great day!
It was nice that Dan had the weekend off so he could come also.  Amy and Wes rode up with us to Lincoln so we had a chance to visit with them on the way there and the way back.  Jarad and Kate would have loved to come but had their Volunteer Fire Departments fundraiser dance last night.

I have given a lot of thought this week to how blessed a really am.  There were days over the past three months where I wasn't exactly thinking as positively as I should have been.  The time laying or sitting since the accident,( because I couldn't do the things I used to do) would get me down.  There are things to be  done... don't you know lol.  I would then feel bad for feeling that way or even complaining because there are so many others who have things so much worse.  I had nothing to complain about. Still ... as much as I would remind myself of that.. there were those days that were just frustrating.
Yesterday especially, as I looked around at this amazing family chattering away around the table, passing out hugs to each person as they arrived, and seeing  this beautiful new baby our family has been blessed with I thought.... Wow..... amazing!   Blessed beyond belief!

Just Blessed beyond belief!

Five for Fridays with Tammy Tutterow Designs and a little trip.

Hello my friends!
Here is it Five for Fridays with the talented ladies from the Tammy Tutterow Designs.  You wont want to miss all the creative goodness so pop over to Tammy's blog here and check them all out, okay?

I'm going to share what I created this week with Tammy's matching stamps and dies first,  then below that , ( if you want to stick around :) I'm sharing some photos of the trip my sis and I took to South Dakota to to visit the people these baskets were created for.

To make the gift tags for these goodie baskets I used SDS-035 Posie Parts ( Stamp & Die Set).

It is a fun Stamp and matching die set with different flowers and leaves, as well as a pot.  You can put one in like I did, or you can add as many as you like.  If you click on the link above to take you to the die, you can see other samples using these.

I SO wish I would have taken these shots at an angle, because you can't see from these photos... how they were die cut and added to the tag with foam squares.   On a colored background they would have really stood off of course, but I loved the look of it  with the while edge on the white background when they had added dimension... it's just hard to see here.

The frame around it is  SBS-073 Simple Line Border
( the dashes are just pen marks I made :)

So... who are the goodie baskets for?  Well, my sis and I spent the past couple of  days in South Dakota visiting our last living Aunts and Uncle.  They are very special to us and all in their 90's now.   My moms sister, brother and sister in law.

Let me  tell you, after all this time stuck in the house after the accident I was sooooo ready for a little road trip.   My sis  offered to drive, and although I can drive now, I'm not probably ready for a 4 hour trip to start, so I was thankful she was kind enough to offer.  ( I'm her baby sister so she takes card of me... always!!!)  truth!!

It's hard to explain how we feel about this place.  It's our comfort zone.  It's were our family started, before moving to Nebraska.  My sis and most of my other siblings were born here in SD. We have spent many days here over our lifetime.  At our Grandparents and Aunt's and Uncles Farms, at family gatherings, weddings, funerals, and we attended every memorial day at the cemetery here. Our grandparents and many other family members are buried here, so our parents always made the trip here for Memorial day to Decorate the graves.  I remember my cousin playing taps on the trumpet at the cemetery when he was a kid in school, and  every year our Uncle Jake was one of the military guys, dressed in their uniforms who shot off the guns at the cemetery after the service. As much as I prepared myself each year for the loud BANG of those guns, I still always jumped.  I was always so proud that that was my Uncle.
Boy do I miss those days.  So many memories.
It holds a special place in all our hearts.
My sis and I talked a lot about how much this place means to us and all the great memories that have  been made here over the years.

Our Aunt has now moved to an assisted living, and really loves  it there.  It's so great to hear her talk about how much she likes it and how happy she is there.  Let me tell you , she 94 and sharp as a tack!
She was as school teacher all her life, and loved teaching.
I had made my sis a little "Grandma Brag Book" to take on this trip to share the photos of her grandkids.  She now has a Grandson and a Granddaughter. She showing the photos to my Aunt in this picture.
* I'll be sharing the little album I made her in an upcoming post.

We visited with Aunt Viv all afternoon, until it was time for her to go to dinner.  We usually take her out to dinner down town when we are there, but there is usually Jan and I both to help get her to the car and in to the restaurant... but at this point I'm lucky if I can get "me" in, using a cane... so we played it safe this time.

The next morning we had planned to go out to our Aunt and Uncle farm to visit.   On the way we always have to drive thru the town (which there isn't much left of) and go buy our Aunt and Uncles old house, the pool hall lol, and the building were my siblings attended school.

On the way we just enjoyed the country, and took in the sights.

It just couldn't have been a nicer time. The weather was beautiful!

I told my sis... "The sky is SO blue and the grass seems SO green".  She said, "it IS gorgeous, but you have been pretty much in the house for three months, I'm sure everything looks especially great".
I hadn't thought of that.
Everything was just beautiful!

You could show the photo below to anyone in my family and they would instantly know that this is the lane the leads to our Aunt and Uncles farm.   Jan and I talked about how we could just sit and have coffee right in the middle of the lane under that tree and be so content.

My Aunt Donna and Uncle Al are such amazing people! I admire them so much.  They are have always been such hard workers all their life.  Of course they farmed but they would also always raise a massive garden. They would cann and freeze so much, but also have extra produce to sell ... and always shared with family. wink wink
As I said, they  are in their 90's now, and although the garden is significantly smaller, they STILL have one! What?  Like I said..they are amazing.
Below my sis is showing them photos.
You have never seen anyone take care of things like my Aunt Donna. She has things from 30-40-50 years ago that are still in pristine condition.  She even has toys from not only when their kids were small, but from when she was a child.

I  always love seeing this photo on her wall.  It's of my cousin Craig ( their son) and I when we were   little , at my grandparents farm.  It just tickles me.

After spending the afternoon with them visiting, it was time to hit the trail back home. 4 hours to get me home and another 1 1/2 for my sis after that.  That time in the car always seems to go fast when her and I are chatting tho. lol

We headed home with our hearts full.  Again talking about how blessed we have been to have these amazing people in our lives. Thankful for all the memories this place stirs up every time we are here.

We laughed about funny stories that were talked about, and things that were mentioned that we had forgotten about, and how great it was to make even more memories.

 Blessed, just blessed

"Home Sweet Home" Embroidery Hoop Wreath Tammy Tuterow Designs

Hello friends!
Popping in for my Five for Fridays post with my Tammy Tutterow Designs girls.  It will be a quick one, as I just walked in from being gone for a couple of days. My friend Julies husband has been in the hospital for a month now, and it's been such a trying time for them. With my stupid foot situation I haven't been able to help her like I wished I could.  She is always the person who is there for everyone, so I was feeling so sad about not being able to help her.  The past couple of days I knew Dan would be here to take care of our dogs so I went to her house to take care of her dog and some things around there for her.  It wasn't much, but I knew even a couple of days would help her out.
I spent some quality time with her 13 year old Chihuahua "Ellie".  I'll share some photos in my next post.

I not only love Tammys' stamps but her amazing dies also.  I used both on this embroidery hood wreath I made for my front door.

See all Tammy's products HERE
She has some amazing stuff! And now Stencils also!!

Isn't this the most adorable stamp??  ( I used Tombo markers and chalk )

Can you see the gorgeous embossing on the leaves?  LOVE!

You can see the Five for Fridays Blog post on Tammy's blog here showing all the gorgeous projects from the ladies and links to their blogs also.

I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying this team.  Working with Tammy's products and these lovely talented ladies is just great.  Feeling Blessed.

Have  yourself a wonderful weekend my friends!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  You know I appreciate is so much.

"Summer Loving" Embroidery Hoop Door Decor using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Fancy Pants Deisgns "Hello Summer Collection"

Hello friends!!

Today I have a tutorial up on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog, showing how to make this fun door decor project with embroidery hoops.  I show how I used the Dual Tip Glue Pen for creating this project.
If your looking for a fun Summer decor project this is fun and easy. I used the new "Hello Summer Collection" from Fancy Pants, and boy did it give it that Summertime vibe.

I'd love it if you popped over HERE to the SA blog and  took a look.

I'm happy to say that this project has found a perfect home with my friend Gabby's mom.  She has little camper herself, so this will be perfect for it. ( And yes, I've already made another hoop project for MY door". lol I'll be sharing it here soon.

It has been so HOT here the past couple of weeks.... but... I'm still thankful for an chance to get out for a while ( if I know air conditioning is on where I"m going) lol.
We did get a car to replace mine, so we have taken it for a ride a couple of different days.  I cant drive yet, but hopefully that isn't too far down the road.

There are miles of corn , which makes me think .. I haven't even had fresh corn on the cob this Summer. Nothing about this Summer has been normal. lol   I was thinking yesterday, I haven't even worn flip flops!!! ugh!

Oh , I guess I did have THIS corn. lol

The kids were here Saturday night for a bit while their parents went to her class reunion.   I can not tell you how much these two brighten my day. They are a hoot!  They were playing restaurant with the new toy food I got. One would take the order while the other one cooked an then they would switch.   They are good at it! Their Uncle and Grandma run a restaurant in a town near here so this is something  they see a lot.
Here is a photo of the restaurant .. They have amazing, amazing food!

You can find them on Facebook "EAT Restaurant in Doge"

There was actually a breeze when we were at  the cabin so Jarad and Kate took their four wheeler and we took their side by side and went for a little ride on the trails to the river.
Loved getting to see Jarad and Kate. They have been so busy with selling their house and getting ready for their move that we haven't see as much of them.
They will be moving to the new house the first part of August.  It will be a busy time with Kate being a teacher.

I hope things are going well for all of you. I love that you take time to stop by and check in .

More projects to share, so I'll be back sooooooon!~

ADORNit cards using Mini card size images / Cabin 4th of July Parade

Hello everyone!

I told you when I started using these paintable (and  also stamped images),   practicing with watercolor pencils, paints, markers ect.. that I would share along the way.  I  didn't start coloring stamps back when everyone else did, because I just didn't think I was interested in that as much as I was with other things in my creative world. Coloring tiny images while trying to master shading and blending , was truthfully kind of intimidating to me. Ok... REALLY intimidating to me. lol
But.... a few things have changed that for me.  First of all, I'm a lot easier on myself than I used to be. I  made myself to stop and think about why I really loved to craft in the first place. It's fun and relaxing.  Reminding myself that everything I do, isn't always going to be my best work, ..just enjoy the process.  *Trying new things help you grown creatively.
Then, along came these printed images and stamps that are larger and (in my opinion) much easier to color or paint.
So, as I try different things and learn, I'll share.  These images are from  ADORNit  mini coloring books.  They are printed on great watercolor paper! That is one of the things I realized right off the bat, that made a huge difference in my end result. I often used to stamp on white cardstock which was okay for colored pencils, but watercolor paper for markers, watercolor pencils, and watercolor paint works SO much better.   Like I said.. this is all new to me.  I'm just playing and learning.
These where done with watercolor  for the most part, but I with use paint, markers, pencils, chalk ect.. whatever mix of those I want.  No rules.
These images are card size so they pretty much stand alone. Just mat them and you are done.  They make great little note cards.

And so you know...... my sweet and talented friend Catherine Scanlon as a book with ADORNit with her beautiful floral images.  You can see it here
I'll be sharing some things done with her images soon.

I'll be sharing some things using her images soon.

I'm suddenly feeling kind of insecure sharing these. lol   I need to take my own advice and chill.  Everyone has to start somewhere.   My blending skills are certainly in the beginning stages.

Well, I did enjoy the process :)

My coloring looks so much better when the images are tiny thumbnails on my computer. lol

Today marks two months since my car accident.  I have been housebound for the most part, except for doctors appointments and a couple of therapy sessions.  Yesterday Amy and Wes invited us out to the cabin for the annual campground parade. The weather was great and I was ready to get out of the house. After about 4 hours I was pooped and ready to come home.  Baby steps, I guess.  I cant see it's going to take some time to build up my strength.     It was so nice to be out tho!
I have to share some photos from the day.

Dan and I didn't ride in the parade.  Sitting and taking photos was more up my alley this year. I just sat out on the deck , waved and took photos. lol

There's Amy and Wes
Kate ( with her niece) and her friend Megan.

Coming and going.

Even little ones. I don't know who she is but shes adorable.

There goes Jarad.

Amy and Wes.

I couldnt share ALL the photos because I took a lot! But you get the idea :)

I was thankful for a nice outing.

I hope you all had a nice weekend also!

Happy Fourth of July!

Sunflower card - Tammy Tutterow and Spellbinders

Hello friends!  Kind of a quick post today while I'm up in my studio. It seems when I am up here, there are so many things I want to get done. One trip up here a day is about all I can do, so I work up here until I can tell it's time to go ice and elevate my foot.  I'm excited because after this week, I will be able to put some weight on my foot, while it's in the boot.  That will make things a lot easier.

This is a card I created with one of  Tammy Tutterows sweet Stamps, and Spellbinders Dies.
She has some great new smaller sentiments that I am in love with. I occasionally like to make so cards to keep on hand that I can just add a sentiment to the inside when I know who I am sending it to, and if it's going to be a Birthday wish, Congratulation, Thankyou ect...

Sunflower Bunch

A few days ago Emmett was here for a bit.  This kid is a hoot! He is the best medicine!   He's getting so big, and talking so grown up these days. He knows the routine around here, so I when I say something like... "I need to feed the dogs now", he says ... in his most exuberant  voice.  " I'll do it!"
Cracks me up!!

I feel like I"m on baby watch.  My great niece is set to arrive soon ( my sister Jan's first girl grandbaby).   My bestie, Julie's daughter is due, and this will be Julies first grandbaby!   Also Sandy ( Crafty Secrets)  daughter Holly is due anytime. (Sandy's second grandbaby).
Such a fun time. Excitement is in the air!

I hope you are enjoying the Summer. The weather here has been amazing!  So nice, in fact that I decided I was going to crawl around and weed  a bit in my flowers out front. Yes, I know it sounds weird, and I"m sure if anyone drove by, they thought .. What the?? ( actually I tried to just sit like a normal person would while weeding if I heard a car coming). lol   I hopped to the edge of the steps, sat down to get off the steps and then crawled along as I weeded. I didn't have the wheel chair out there, because I was just imagining someone stopping to see if I fell out of my wheelchair. lol
Trust me, if it was gorgeous out and you had been stuck inside for almost two months, you might try it to. lol
It felt great to be outside and really good to be doing SOMETHING other than sitting inside..... UNTIL I started itching and getting red bumps like crazy.  CHIGGERS!     seriously .. no fun!
I don't know if Chiggers are common all over the US, but here in NE they are.  I actually thought "I hope I don't get chiggers" as I sat in the grass.  UGH!

Just talked to my sis. Seems she's been out weeding also. lol  She has them also.
oh man.

Well, I hope you have a great "Chigger-less" day my friends!

Thanks, as always for stopping by!
