A thank you card using Catherine Scanlon Designs stamps from Art Gone Wild.

Hey friends!
Today I'm sharing a simple thank you card I created with one of the beautiful flower stamps designed by my friend Catherine Scanlon.
Over the years, working in the craft industry, I had must say that one of the best things is seeing your friends artwork being acknowledged and being shared with others.  My friend Catherine is an extremely talented artist.  I've know this for a long time. lol  Her hand drawn flowers are amazing!
Now her designs are stamps that are available at ART gone Wild.

Cat and I have been good friends for a number of years.  We first met when we were on a design team together, probably 15 years ago now.    She was one of those people you meet and just know you are going to be lifetime friends with.

Over the years, we got to meet up and spend time together when we were working trade shows.

Some of these pictures so way back. lol

Cat even came to visit me here in NE, and we had such a great time.
I always wish we lived closer.

If you get a chance, check out Catherine's stamps at ART gone WILD.

More of her Designs HERE

Nothing better than seeing people you care about have good things happen to them.  Proud of you Cat!

We have been having some fantastic Fall days lately!  I snapped a photo from our bedroom window yesterday.  These are the days that make me love Fall!

I wish I could take the dogs and go for a walk.  Unfortunately my foot is not any less painful than it was before. After seeing my Orthopedic surgeon and finding out the joint is breaking down and filling with arthritis, the next thing was to be fitting for a brace.  This is a hard plastic, (in shoe ) brace. Oh.. like $500 worth. ugh

Two months of this to see if the pain improves at all.  If not, the only other option is to have surgery to fuse the bones together.  That I want to avoid  if at all possible.  So right now, I'm praying this helps, but it an I have not been bonding well at his point. :(

Oh.. did I mention I had to get $160 shoes for it to go in.  Ugh
I shouldn't complain.  If it helps, I'd pay about anything.

I thought I'd also share a photo challenge picture from this week.  This is Day one. I was nominated my Kathy Clement .  It's supposed to be a B &W photo each day for 7 days.  The hard part for me it that there is to be no explanation.  I just snapped this with my phone camera.    Trying to remind myself to just enjoy the process, the idea and they experience. I don't have to use my good camera  and try to take a prize winning photo. lol  Just enjoy the process sometimes.

Need a photo challenge.  Try this.... B & W photo, one a day for 7 days.

Thanks for coming by!  I'm hoping your week is going great!

Hugs, Vicki

Christmas Card using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Quietfire Designs

Hello Friends!
I'm so sorry this post wasn't up earlier.  Modern technology was not my friend today :(
I'm going to give it another try.
All this week over on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog we are blog hopping with Quietfire Designs.  Sharing inspiration and hosing a giveaway!
Please pop on over and check it out HERE

This is the card I created for the blog hop.  It's as Christmas card I created using Quietfire Designs Stencils and Stamps, with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L adhesives.
I thought I'd show you how it came together and hopefully share a few helpful hints.

This is also one of the sentiments in this group. I stamped this on the inside of the card.  I used my E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser
for my general adhesive for this. I am always so impressed how it sticks will to even non porous  surfaces like this gold metallic paper.

Have you every used  E-Z Runner Grand Repositionable Dots to hold your stencils?   It works great!  When your all finished, just rub it away easily.  QuietFire Designs Butterflies and Stars Stencil.

I did used this technique to the stenciled star background.   My main stamped piece will cover the middle so it's not necessary to fill it totally in.
The stamp set I used was Merry Christmas Flourished Tree – Set of 3 Stamps – Mounted

I used distress inks to create the stars and also for my stamping and edging.  I filled the star and dots in with a marker.

The gorgeous foil paper I used is  from Fancy Pants Designs .  I used my distressing tool to create the pierced edge to add interest.

I love using Crafty Foam Tape White  to give my matted main image dimension and lift off the card.

This was my first time using Quietfire Designs products, and they were great to work with.  I'll be using them often.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Be sure to pop over and get in on the giveaway :)

National Card Making Day / Sharing Fancy Pants Designs Halloween cards

Well, it's World Cardmaking day, so how could I not post a card or  two? lol    I love making and sending handmade cards.  I started out primarily doing scrapbook layouts, but quickly realized the joy of cardmaking.   They can satisfy my need for a little quick creative time while brightening someones day when I send it off in the mail. Who doesn't have getting a card in the mail, right?

Today I thought I'd share a couple of cards I created with the fun new Fancy Pants Designs Halloween Collection.  Spellbound

I know I'm a bit bias, but I truly believe Fancy Pants products make projects come together so easily. The collections just have so many great pieces for titles and bits of ephemera that it's actually hard to choose what to use. lol  I have been designing with Fancy Pants since their very first collection probably 11+ years ago, and  they just get better and better.  Not to mention, they are just super people. I'm always proud to say I design for Fancy Pants Designs.

With the help of Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L adhesives these cards come together in a flash.  I love using Foam Squares to give the bits of ephemera lift off the card, and add dimension.

Speaking of  Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, I wanted to make sure to send you over to get in on this giveaway!

 HERE

Enjoy your day, ... .and if you can find a little time, slip into your craft room to make a card or two :)

As always, thank you , thank you for stopping by!

"Dont ever let anyone dull you Sparkle" and Fall decor

Hey Everyone!
It's been a while since I have made a card with the ADORNit Paintable Sheets.  So today I'm sharing a card I created with one of the images.   If your not familiar with them, they are 12x12 sheets (different images), printed and watercolor paper. There are a lot of fun sheets with different themes also. You can see them all at the link above.
I just used Sharpies for the most part with coloring this image, with a Copic marker for the yellow and blue shadowing around the frame and words.  I wish you could actually see the "sparkle" in this photo. I added some Stickles, well... because of the saying lol.  Papers are ribbon are also ADORNit.

After the recent events in Vas Vegas I think think week I felt even more like staying in. My heart has just been feeling so heavy from it all. I finally turned off the news for a bit and ask Alexa to play me some relaxing music. ( yes, you can ask her that, and she does :) .
There is something about "home", when you are just needing comfort and a feeling of security.  I have my Fall decor out and Fall scented candles burning. A time to just enjoy being at home and to be thankful for the everyday things.

I usually share some Fall decor photo here or my blog.  I just snapped a few with my phone to share.  I wish you could all share back. lol   But if you have a blog, and you share, please let me know.

I used to just get crazy with seasonal stuff, but I don't know if it's because I'm getting older, lazier, or just like less stuff, but I don't decorate seasonally like I used to.  This year, because of my foot, things are way less.
I do like a much simpler look these days, but I"m pretty sure I just put out less because it's  A LOT of work! lol

I used to have so many little things. Now I just put out my favorites in with my other dishes in the china cabinet.

I forgot to take photos out front, but I have some pumpkins, mums ect out there.
We spend more time on the back deck these days, so I have a few things out there.

It's defiantly Fall. It's really cooled off. Today was a gorgeous day!

Last week we had Jep ( Amy and Wes's pup) here while they were on vacation in the Black Hills.
For a couple of days this week Riley and Chloe ( Jarad and Kates pups) are here with Grandma and Grandpa while they are in Colorado to see a show at Red Rocks.
Today was a sweater day :)

Jarad and Kate at Red Rocks

Wes and Amy is South Dakota

So when Dan's at work ... it's me and the pooches.  I love dogs :)

We really only have two dogs, really lol
I wonder if people who don't know us but see my photos on instagram and FB, think we run a kennel.

I don't think there is such a thing. lol

"I could Fall for you" Fall hanging using Tammy Tutterow stamps / Rhubarb Crisp recipe

Hey Everyone!  It's Five for Fridays with Tammy Tutterows Creative time and I have a little something "Fallish" to share.  I used this stamp on my project a couple of weeks ago when I made a little decorative box of candy, I loved it so much I couldn't quit. lol   Well, you know, it's only Fall for so long, so who knows, I'm sure you might see it here again :)
This time I made a little decorative hanging for my sis.
Again, simple coloring, but the stamp is so beautiful, it makes such a statement.

I could Fall for you  Stamp from Tammy Tutterow

As always, every other Friday is "Five for Fridays" with Tammy Tutterows Creative Team.  A day where everyone  shares a new project.   There are such a creative bunch of ladies, you will want to check out there projects here on Tammy's Blog.
You can also get the links there for their personal blogs.

It's feeling like Fall here this week, for the first time.  It feels great to have the air conditioning off and the windows open.  It's not always so good for my headaches, but I do love Fall.
My sis was here over and look what she brought.  Rhubarb Crisp.
Oh, anything Rhubarb reminds me so much of mom.  She baked with it often and also make Strawberry Rhubarb jelly.  Yum!
This Crisp was so delicious that I asked my sis if I could share the recipe here.
It's super easy and so Yummy!!!

Rhubarb Crisp

4 cups Rhubarb
1 sm box of Jello (strawberry)
1 Cake mix (White)
1 c Sugar
1 1/2 c Water
1 stick Butter

Place Rhubarb in 9x13 Pan. Mix dry jello and sugar together. Sprinkle over Rhubarb. Add water.
Sprinkle cake mix over above ingredients. Place butter (sliced) over cake mix.  Bake 350 for 35 min.

As we were talking about Rhubarb, my sis was saying this rhubarb she has is some that was from my grandmas original plant.  Why did that make it taste even better? lol    I have some that I've planted here, but I think I need to move it into more direct sun, as it hasn't done really well.
Another thing for next years "to do" list.

Update on my foot.

Because of the accident things we had planned for this Summer just got put on hold.
Speaking of that.  I didn't get the news I was hoping for at the appointment with my Orthopedic Surgeon last week.   I have still been having a lot of pain in my foot, and it's difficult to walk. I had it in my mind that it was probably just a bone spur and they would just give me a Cortisone shot and send me home.
Instead he said that the X-ray showed that the joint between the two bones was breaking down and becoming arthritic.
I have now been fitted for a brace that will  fit inside my shoe. The brace is being custom made and will be ready in another week or two.   That will be the first thing to try.  If I continue to have pain, the other option is another surgery. This would be to fuse the two bones together.  This would limit the mobility of my foot, but as he said, I don't have the much now the way it is.
I am in no hurry to have another surgery, that will lay be up for months again, so please pray the brace will help.
There are so many people with trouble WAY bigger than this, so I shouldn't complain.   I AM thankful that the accident wasn't worse and that no one else was hurt.
I just need to be patient.

Thank you to everyone for your messages, cards, and prayers!

Hugs all around!

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Lawn Fawn Blog hop

Wow, what a month fun of fun Product sharing!  Another blog hop with two great companies!  This week Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Lawn Fawn are teaming up for some creative fun on their blogs.   You can check out all the inspiration on both blogs.  Links below

I know you are going to be so surprised that I chose to create something with these cute dog stamps. lol ( or maybe you won't be that surprised) lol

 Squeeeeel!! aren't they adorable?!?!
Critters at the Dog Park stamps

And the matching dies make cutting them out a breeeeze!!

Critters at the Dog Park dies

Since I was going to be able to cut the images our with the dies, I decided to stamp directly onto this  adorable paper from Lawn Fawn

Perfectly Plaid rainbow petite paper pack

I knew right away that I wanted to create a treat jar. ( because my dogs are so well behaved , they deserve treats all the time. ...... yeah right lol)    Actually I wanted this cute jar with pups to sit on my counter.

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Adhesive Sheets work wonders for things like this. Even on glass.  Using the sheet on the backside of your pre stamped paper and then using your dies to cut it out just works like a charm.  When you cut it out and peel off the backing, you have a piece with adhesive to the very edge, all the way around.  No lifting up. Even on glass. Even when it's on a round piece like this.

I just had to show you the pups all the way around the jar. There are so many cute ones!
I will be using this set a lot!

Thanks a bunch for stopping by! I always appreciate you visiting!

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Stampendous Blog Hop

If you haven't been over to the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog this week, you might not know that there is a super fun blog hop going on with Stampendous.  I  hope you get a chance to check it out. Lots of great projects being shared by both teams.

Today I am sharing this card on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog, but I thought I'd share a little step by step of how I created the background, here on my blog.

I adore these cute Polar Bears from Stampendous.  Polar Bears Cling Stamps and Dies Set
I wanted to create a "wintery" looking card, but try a background with non traditional Christmas Colors.  I actually love how it turned out.   Below I'll show you how to create the easy background technique.

Here you can see the stamp/die set Polar Bears Cling Stamps and Dies Set
This is a super easy technique that always seems to produce a cool result.
Just apply some ink to your clear acrylic block by rubbing or dabbing the ink directly to it.

Give it a few of mists of water. ( you want it to be pretty saturated).

Flip it over onto watercolor paper, pressing down and then leaving it set about 3 minutes. ( this gives the water and ink a chance to absorb into the paper). ( If you want the colors to be lighter, you can pick it up sooner).

Of course, each time the result will be unique from the one before.  I love that!
I also like the raw edge :)

It's a super fun background, don't you thing?  I think my bears like it. :)

I also can never resist using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Foam Squares to make the featured stamp pop off the page.

I hope you're inspired to give it a try!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
